š¬First thingās first, who else almost went deaf because of the sounds from that opening scene? š§š¾āāļø
š When compared to the first 2 movies, Chapter 3 – Parabellum was my least favourite. The writers must have heard me, because Chapter 4 is made of cinematography goodness.
It was impossible to take my eyes off the screen, else I risk missing out on a really good slice, punch or shoot.
šæThe movie starts off with the obvious, the high table is angry! And John Wick as itās the norm since the end of Chapter 2, now has a price for his head. Thatās all the synopsis you need to know before watching for yourself why every single blow was a hit back to back š«”. Itās what movie dreams should be made of.
š„·I havenāt watched an action movie this good since Covid came and ruined everything. I even had tears of joy while watching those open roof scenes. Middle of the traffic circle, dragonās breath shotguns during the open roof and those damn stairs š¤Æ. Did I mention that amazingly satisfying ābulletā?? The summary here is that every single action sequence was a hit. There was no moment to catch my breath.
š¤ŗAnd can we talk about how they tell us to never judge a book by its cover in the scenes involving Killa (the golden teeth man) ??? Okay no spoiling again, Iām not even sure I spoiled anything. But still upon stillā¦ š«”
š«”Kudos to the cast and crew of John Wick – the loving husband and devoted pawrent, this franchise has been nothing but beautiful. Iām here hoping for a chapter 5 or better still, I need a chapter before the 1st, a prequel. As chapter 4 gives us a slight taste of what could have happened prior to Johnās retirement from the underworld.
šæAnd as for the ending scene, well the director says itās up to us to decide how we want the ambiguity of that to go š. And oh, hang around for a beautiful post credit scene too.
Sad to know Lance Reddick passed away before the movie was released. May his soul rest in peace šš¾
šļøJohn Wick: Chapter 4 showing in movie theatres. And itās a 10/10 watch for me.
